How long are the waiting times for a paraglider check?
Same-day pickup possible (by appointment).
During peak season, turnaround time is max. 3–4 days.
Fixed appointment scheduling, fast process — your 2-year inspection without long waiting times.
Reviews that speak for themselves!
We’ll contact you immediately if anything stands out — and we always coordinate any corrections with you first.
Inspection reports are exported digitally as a PDF and digitally signed; invoices are also sent digitally (paperless / eco-friendly).

Goodwill (often): If no additional tear-strength test is required, we often replace a damaged line free of charge as part of the check (after consultation).
As a general rule: We coordinate all necessary measures in advance with you.
The 2-year inspection of a paraglider includes the following steps:
Paraglider identification
- At the beginning of the paraglider check, we identify the glider in our check center using the type plate (manufacturer, model, size, serial number) and enter it into our inspection database.
For this, we use our own software, developed specifically for paraglider checks: When the glider is received, missing information is added and the manufacturer’s line lengths are imported.
In addition, we document the measurement methodology in the system (e.g., measurement points from the knots or directly from the fabric, brake measurement with/without swivel, with/without gathering straps).
All checks and reports are stored in our ACC (Aircraft Check) database and exported as a PDF — on request digitally signed for handover to the customer.

Suspension, cleaning, and visual inspection
- As part of the paraglider check, the glider is hung upside down so that coarse debris (stones, grass) can fall out. We then inspect the canopy while it is hanging for tears, holes, open seams, broken rods, damaged ribs, as well as damage to the lines.
Porosity measurement
- As part of the paraglider check, the air permeability of the fabric is measured with a JDC MK2 porosimeter at five points on the upper surface — for a realistic assessment of the remaining service life.
- In addition, we carry out a BettsoMeter test to ensure that the tear strength meets the manufacturer’s requirements.
We measure air permeability not only up to 200 seconds, but — if the fabric allows — up to 1000 seconds, which reflects the resale value more transparently.
The porosity values are also documented in the report by classification (e.g., like new / used, etc.).
Paraglider check: component inspection & line load test
- Risers, brake-line locks, speed system, pulleys, and other components are checked for wear and damage.
- Each individual line is inspected visually and by feel for possible damage.
- The lines are load-tested to ensure they meet the required specifications.
- Precise measurement and, if necessary, trimming of the lines ensure optimal flight behavior — measured with a calibrated Leica laser measuring device.
We also record and measure loops (e.g., double loop, anchor hitch, anchor hitch+, anchor hitch++) and enter the loop lengths in the report — so you can precisely track how changes affect the result.
Our ACC software is adapted so that small changes are visible live immediately: current deviations for each measurement are displayed directly. Large jumps are recognized instantly (indicating the wrong line, a knot, incorrect manufacturer data, or a measurement error) — allowing us to re-measure right away instead of losing time only at the end.
In addition, we also use WingSolution (among others for Skywalk, and in the future also NOVA) as well as measurement files like those used by PHI, created by Ralf Antz.
Final inspection & overall end check of the entire paraglider
- Final end check of the entire glider: We verify that all components function properly.
- Inspection stamp for the 2-year check and complete documentation for handover — including the inspection report for the paraglider check.
Full transparency: The customer receives all measurement points with no “secrets” — including tear / tear-propagation strength, line / trim deviations, and the current line lengths after correction in the report.
Consultation instead of guessing: If something isn’t right (e.g., brake-length correction), we contact you and first check the cause. Reasons can include, among others, incorrect manufacturer values, incorrectly installed lines, material defect, or customer modifications.
- Our experienced team carries out every step of the paraglider check with the highest precision — for safety, best condition, and optimal flight behavior.
Important note on the “DHV-certified” status:
The DHV is a certification body for equipment / type testing — however, it is not a governmental supervisory authority that regularly monitors check facilities in ongoing operation as an “aviation maintenance organization” or “approves” them.
The re-inspection (2-year check) is legally bound to the manufacturer’s instructions; in Germany it is carried out “according to the instructions specified by the manufacturer” (LuftGerPV). What matters, therefore, is the manufacturer authorization and a transparent inspection report — not a marketing slogan.
Too expensive to ship to Austria? German 🇩🇪 shipping address.
For customers from Germany, we have a simple solution: On request, you can send your glider to our German shipping address. Return shipping is insured & with tracking — with no customs within the EU. This keeps your paraglider check / 2-year inspection fast and affordable.
ContactExpress paraglider check in peak season – same-day pickup
In short: During peak season, we offer an accelerated process (express check) with same-day pickup. Drop off your glider in the morning (by 10:00 a.m.) — we complete the full check incl. measurement / trimming and the inspection report, and you can take it with you again in the afternoon.
Notes: limited slots, by appointment only,
Express serviceSwiss pilots 🇨🇭: check & service cheaper than in Switzerland — here’s how
You send your glider from Switzerland to us in Austria with the note “Repair & Return (no transfer of ownership)”. We carry out the check/service and re-export the glider back to Switzerland. Upon re-import, only Swiss VAT (8.1%) is due on labor + new parts — no tax on the entire glider. Overall, this is usually cheaper than comparable services in Switzerland.

Very fast paraglider check and totally flexible when it comes to pickup
We brought two gliders for a check and a reserve for repacking for the first time, and we were completely satisfied with the work, the communication, and the scheduling. Wolf Paragliding Service is very professional and thorough. 100% recommendation.
